Kickham Juvenile team news

Congratulations to Kickhams U12 B team on winning  the West Shield Final against Solohead.  Great display by all showing skill and courage under pressure.
Our U14 team won the West Semi-Final on Monday evening against Cappawhite  2-06 to 2-02  and went on to win the West Championship Final on Wednesday evening against a strong Sean Treacys team on a score line of 3 - 04  to  2 - 03. What a fantastic match to watch.

Our U12 A`s and C`s played their first hurling matches last Thursday in Annacarty against the homeside. First off the mark were  the C`s winning 2-6 to 0-0.  The A`s fought hard to win 2-3 to 1-4. Keep it up boys.
Our gallant U14`s were beaten in the Football Co. Semi Final on Saturday 4th by a very strong South side Ardfinnan. Our boys got off to a  great start scoring  the opening goal then a point.  Ardfinnan settled  and got a few scores. Determined Kickhams fought hard right to the end. Congrats to all involved we are proud of ye.

Trespass in field.
We would ask that  those who  are trespassing in the field  and car park when the gates are locked to please stop this practise, climbing high walls / fences etc is not a safe activity and last Sunday a young child who somehow climbed or was lifted in, was locked inside the field and could not get out.
Parents are asked to keep an eye on what their children are up to as Kickhams GAA Club cannot take any responsibility for any possible injuries received from climbing an 8 foot boundary wall into private property. Not many responsible people would want someone clambering over their backwall, especially
if they had not got permission. There has also been some vandalism within the property in recent times and the appropriate authorities have been notified.
Please note that when the field is open all are welcome.

Please remember with intercounty championship up & running, only paid up members will be eligible for club tickets for All ticket matches.

We have updated our website We will continue to include up to date results & fixtures for all clubs teams as well as all other club activities. Dundrum Tidy Towns.

Work continues with tidy towns, as usual we meet weekly at the garda barracks car park on tuesdays at 7pm. Judging for the national tidy towns could begin at any time now so we would appeal to everyone to keep the village litter free and thier localities as tidy as possible, thanks once again to all the tidy towns volunteers and FAS for their hard work., at the moment we are trying to get as much colourful flowers around the village as we can, this includes replanting some existing beds and shortly we hope to get some nice hanging baskets on the go, anyone who would like to donate plants please contact 087 6883884.

Jake Ryan of Knockavilla will travel with other Concern volunteers to Kenya in July. As you can imagine soccer is as big there as in other countries, especially the English Premier League, La Liga, etc, but the majority of those in need cannot afford any of their favourite clubs merchandise. Jake is hoping to make a collection of  new, old or unwanted jerseys,  preferably soccer ones (all sizes accepted) so that the children will have the same chances as our own to feel connected to their heros and perhaps dream a little. Jake is son of Christopher and Helen Ryan who are delighted that he has been selected travel. Please drop any jerseys into the Ryan home in Knockavilla. Your usual generous support would be greatly appreciated.
